At time of writing there is a major doubt as to whether the Giro d’Italia will be finishing on the Col du Galibier on Sunday.
A culmination a heavier than normal snow fall over the winter, the time of year, and the fact that more snow is due to fall before Sunday has meant the organisers have a race against time to clear the snow in time.
A decision by the Giro organisers is due on Friday morning. If it is cancelled it will be difficult to watch the race from the Bourg d’Oisans side as the Col de la Croix de Fer and the Col du Glandon are also still snow bound
