How Has Your Month Been? (And Have You Kept Your New Year’s Resolutions?)

Well, here we are, already deep into the year, and I’m finally getting around to writing my first blog post. One of my New Year’s resolutions was to post a blog once a month but I failed that one in January. But hey, life gets busy, right? At least I’ve managed to keep one resolution alive—releasing videos every week throughout 2025. Every Wednesday at 17:00 CET, you can find a fresh video on my channel from cycling vlogs to the new More Than 21 Bends Atelier. If you haven’t already, subscribe here so you don’t miss out!

Speaking of videos, let’s catch up on what I’ve released in January 2025. I’m still coming to grips with the technology and a video style so bare with me for a while. Anyway here’s a quick rundown of the latest releases:

1st January 2025 – The Ultimate French English 12 day Bike packing Tour – This one seemed to take me for ages to edit and is by far the longest video so make sure you have a cup of tea and some biscuits to watch this one.

8th January 2025 – Alpe d’Huez Gravel – Back to where the French Adventure started for us – Alpe d’Huez but this time a look at the gravel riding at the base of the 21 Bends – Wow that was a hot day – dreaming of that now !

15th January 2025 – French Coffee Fress – Bikepacking – A slightly tongue in cheek look at making a cup of coffee using a french press while bikepacking. I liked this video less so the YouTube algorithm !

22nd January Jersey v Guernsey – Taken from my Ultimate bikepacking trip released on the 1st January this video compares the British Channel Islands of Jersey and Guernsey from a cycling point of view. If you haven’t been to the channel islands add it to your list of weekend destinations.

29th January 2025 – Cycling in Brittany France – Over the summer of 2024 I headed to Brittany for a few weeks of traveling around in the More Than 21 Bends camper van. I took a bike, of course, so here are 7 short rides from Brittany France.

More Than 21 Bends Cycling Holiday 2025

  1. Croí Heart and Stroke Foundation Cycling Holiday – We’re organizing this incredible event again, this time in August, and I couldn’t be more excited. If you’re into cycling and want to support a great cause, check out the full details on the Croi website. It’s going to be an unforgettable experience.
  2. Le Bourg d’Oisans and Alpe d’Huez Long Weekend – I’ve already booked a group of 18 cyclists for a long weekend of epic rides in the French Alps. If you’ve ever dreamed of tackling Alpe d’Huez, this is your chance. The scenery, the climbs, the camaraderie—it’s going to be amazing. You can create your own bespoke holiday with me.
  3. Alpe d’Huez & Mont Ventoux Long Weekend – Mark your calendars for mid-September! I’m planning a special long weekend trip that’s open to everyone. We’ll be conquering two of the most iconic climbs in cycling: Alpe d’Huez and Mont Ventoux plus a few others on this point to point tour. If you’re interested, reply to this email or drop a comment below. Let’s make it happen!

So, while I may have dropped the ball on my monthly blog posts, I’m still out here grinding, riding, and creating content. And honestly, that’s what matters most—staying active, pursuing passions, and sharing the journey with all of you.

How about you? How’s your month been? Have you stuck to your New Year’s resolutions, or have they gone the way of my monthly blog posts? Let me know in the comments or hit reply. I’d love to hear from you!

Until next time (whenever that may be), keep pedaling, keep smiling, and don’t forget to subscribe to More Than 21 Bends for your weekly dose of French cycling adventures.

Cheers,

Phil – More Than 21 Bends
