A few photos from the 2010 Challenge du Dauphiné Vercors

I headed off with my friend Radboud – who lives in Grenoble – to ride the long version of the Challenge du Dauphiné Vercors Sportive today. Despite a start time of 8AM the weather was perfect and approximately 700 people turned up to do the various distances. We decided on the 158 KM distance (with 3500 m vertical height gain). It was my first time riding in the Vercors and I have to say the scenery is fantastic and with a couple of big climbs and some seemingly never ending descents it was a perfect 5 hours and 48 minutes in the saddle. For the record both of us achieved the Gold standard for our age group.

We will be offering this sportive as part of our Alpe d’Huez to Mont Ventoux option for 2011, or if you prefer you can stay with us in Bourg d’Oisans and travel down for the day.
