Cycling Alpe d’Huez in the Rain

Bienvenue à Alpe d’Huez! Known as ‘the Dutch Mountain’ by Tour de France fans, this iconic climb brings out the best—and the toughest—in every cyclist.

Today, our brave riders are taking on Alpe d’Huez under a different kind of challenge: pouring rain! No shortcuts here, just 21 famous hairpin turns, relentless elevation, and an uphill battle against the elements.

The usual Tour de France crowds may be missing, but with each cold, soggy pedal stroke, these cyclists are summoning the strength and determination of legends like Hinault and Pantani.

Through Dutch Corner, where orange-clad fans usually roar during the Tour, today it’s just me with an umbrella and a couple of cameras capturing this incredible wet-weather ascent. Join us as these wet-weather warriors conquer Alpe d’Huez, battling the rain, the climb, and themselves—earning their own legendary finish at the summit.”
