Tour Reviews

Hi Helen and Phil, We are now home, back in Canada. Our cycling adventure was amazing and fabulous. We would like to thank both of you, More Than 21 Bends and Prompt Cycle for making our self guided cycling adventure through the French Alps a wonderful experience. Your hospitality and friendliness were very welcoming. The preparation and organization you provided for our trip prior to the start made our trip stress free and more relaxing (apart from the actual physical work of the cycling). Your knowledge of the area, selection of routes and accommodations only enhanced our experience and the enjoyment of our vacation. As an aside, we believe the destination to Eze was new for you as well. We would like to inform you that Eze is a spectacular village in case you want to use that route as an alternative in the future. Fabulous views of the Mediterranean below, a great revitalization of the local castle (gardens and shops within the castle walls). Again, thank you very much, Gary and Kathy

This being my 5th holiday with More Than 21 Bends I dont think I really need to say a whole lot more to show how much I have enjoyed the experiences provided. Again met a great bunch of guys to share time with both on and off the bike. I suspect that this was no coincidence! The Route des Grandes Alpes was the most ambitious tour I have been on so far, and it certainly felt like an adventure starting in the rain at Lake Geneva and ending at (and in) the sunny Mediterranean, with over 20 stunning cols climbed in between (I added a few extra). Really appreciated the friendly and effective support, as ever, from Phil and Helen, as well as the freedom to do my own thing when I felt the need. Looking forward to my 6th trip, hopefully sometime in the not too distant future

Thanks for a great trip. What a fantastic route with stunning scenery. Manageable climbs and amazing descents. Over the years I’ve been on many cycle trips with different companies all over the world. I have enjoyed them all, but I must say your trip is up there with the best of them. What made it for me was the trip was split into 8 riding days with a rest day in the middle. The distance and time taken each day was perfect, just the right amount of climbing to test your legs and stamina but not leave you shattered at the end of the day. The hotels were perfectly adequate. Comfortable, with a bar (essential) and a good substantial evening meal. I very much liked the picnic lunch stops when the weather was fine. You both run the trip in a very safe and relaxed manner. I never felt pressurised despite being one of the slower cyclists. And you were always there with the support vehicle when we needed to change clothes or refuel. Again many thanks. I will definitely be looking to go on another of your trips again. Kevin

Geneva - Nice (hilly route) July/August 2012: Best organised bike tour I have participated in. Phil and Alan obviously have very special talents as they were even able to manage the weather. The price was very competitive while the accomodation and food were both good. A small number in the group which enabled the guys to ensure everyones needs were met, ie. vehicle support, riding times/speed, coffee/lunch stops etc. Phil's French and his local knowledge came in very useful on many occasions, whether we were in Geneva, Nice or anywhere between. I was lucky as I also, (without any additional cost), was provided entertainment and support by a bunch of great guys from Perth. If I have the opportunity will be doing it again next year
